Marine angling effort remained high last week during the final weekend of the derby. Ketchikan, Alaska’s King Salmon Derby was won by a 42.0 lb king salmon with a total of 823 king salmon entered. King salmon harvest reports have been good and should continue to improve thru the end of the month.
A few chum and coho have also started to make an appearance in the local marine fishery and they should only continue to build over the summer.
