Captain Drew was friendly and informative as well and deserves alot of credit for answering all of my fishing related questions. I offshore saltwater fish in my hometown of Cape May, NJ and once a year in La Verandre Provincial Park in Quebec, Canada for walleye and pike. I thought Canada had some big water but so does Alaska. Received our catch in a couple of days, filleted and vacum sealed and fully frozen. The color was a beautiful pumkin orange and I can't wait to eat some. If you are looking for a first class fishing experience and some good fish action, Oasis Alaska Charters in Ketchikan is the place to go.Paul Hoober2023-09-20Great fishing. We were greeted by captain Murray at the dock and proceeded out on our 4 hr trip..not only did we fish but we caught..kings and chum..coho..pinks you name it..captain Murray shared his wealth of knowledge of the area and stayed on the fish . If we make it back, I would definitely request Murray again. Oasis is perfect for cruise ship passengers with a limited timeframe in Ketchikan. The shuttle picked us up within 10 min of departure from the cruise ship and the transfer to the marina was seamless. We had our fish shipped home and it arrived cold and perfectly packaged. Communication from Oasis Alaska Charters was perfect. Several weeks prior to our trip, we began receiving confirmation emails with details and reminders to purchase a fishing license. Considering we were traveling across the entire country for this trip, the communication was much appreciated. Our family of six had the boat to ourselves. Our captain, Drew, got us all set up with safety instructions and then the fishing started. We didn't have to go far before we were catching big salmon, 21 in all to take home (we did not have a King Salmon stamp so could not keep those). Drew worked with each of us to make sure we got the technique to land the fish in the boat. The fish were packed and mailed and delivered on time. Before we ever got off our ship (we were on a cruise) to take the charter, the communication was excellent. The trip from the port to their marina was about 20 minutes or so. The marina was very nice. It had a place to grab a quick bite, a bathroom and a nice shop. We were introduced to our captain, Capt. Drew. He was great. The boat was clean, safe and appeared dependable. The 1/2 day trip was fine as the fishing grounds weren't far away. They used Shimano and Penn Reels that appeared to be maintained properly. Their lures were clean and hooks were sharp. They didn't look to cut corners anywhere to save a few dollars. Capt. Drew was great, not only was he experienced and knew where the fish would be, but he was very knowledgeable about the surrounding land and area and at times acted like a tour guide. Yes, we caught fish; actually we limited out pretty quickly. We caught a variety of fish including: coho, pink salmon, king salmon, chum, and halibut. Our lines were busy the entire time on the water. We were so fortunate to have a calm and hard working guide provide us with the best experience. Thank you so much for making this one of the highlights of our vacation!!! Once we arrived at the marina we met Captain Hunter, and we were off. The boat was comfortable and well equipped. Hunter explained what we were going to be doing and took us to our fishing spot.
Al 5 of us had the opportunity to catch fish and we hooked several including 2 large King Salmon. It was a highlight of our Alaska trip and all due to the hospitality and expertise of Hunter and their team.
When we got back we were met at the dock by the processors and look forward to receiving our salmon this week.

We were running late on our cruise ship because somebody on the ship needed to be airlifted to a hospital. Thankfully the crew over at Oasis was alerted, and were extremely accommodating to our needs. We were promptly picked up at the port, and were sent out with a great captain that put us on the fish! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area and provided us with all the necessary equipment and instructions to make our fishing trip a success. The shuttle service was also excellent, making it easy to get to the fishing spot without any hassle.
During the tour, we were lucky enough to catch 3 halibut, which was beyond our expectations. The guide from Oasis Alaska Charters was super attentive and made sure we had a great time on the water. He was patient and helpful, answering all our questions and offering tips on how to improve our fishing techniques.
Overall, I had a fantastic time on this tour and would highly recommend Oasis Alaska Charters to anyone looking for a fun and memorable fishing adventure. Salmon fishing was on my husband's bucket list. We were on a 9-day Alaskan cruise. Fishing was one of the last things we planned. I had hoped and prayed that this fishing adventure would exceed my husband's expectations. It did...ON EVERY LEVEL!!!! From the shuttle ride from/to the port, to the boat and captain (Drew), to the weather (sunny, no winds...in September), to the fishing...EVERYTHING was absolutely wonderful! Can't say enough good things about this company. - Oh yes I can! We had 60 lbs. of salmon filets shipped home to Tennessee. 60 POUNDS OF FILETS!!!! - Thank you Oasis Alaska Charters so much! - P.S.
