Last trip of the season 092316 Expected the fishing to be slower this late in the season and only fishing about 4 hours because have to get back to the cruise ship. Fishing was awsome, only went 1/4 mile from slip and only covered one small area which we shared with whales and bald eagles the whole time. We caught 5 fish and had many more bites. If that is slow I will take it any day. We told the lady cab driver we would get her a filet and we did-she was really happy. We didn't ship any fish because would have to have lots more meat to make it worth while. Our captain Mark really knows the fishery up there. I am going to do a full day and target Halibut with him on our next charter. I have my own boat in San Diego and have been fishing bluefin tuna all summer and this was a great change of pace. Best part was I didn't have to clean the boat when we got back to the dock.

great experience spent 2 1/2 days fishing with Chris - the whole company is first rate - friendly, accommodating, very interested in providing a top notch experience; although we were scheduled for an 8 hour trip we actually fished for over 10 hours as there was no pressure to return at a certain time; willing to go wherever necessary to find fish - plan to go back next year and will definitely use these folks

Spectacular day of fishing! We had a fantastic time with Captain Murray. He was just awesome. So attentive and really knew his stuff. We were catching so many fish -halibut and Salmon- that it was hard to even keep up! My dad and brother have been on many fishing charters and said by far this was the most successful trip we have ever had. We caught more fish than we can probably ever eat! Great day! Also saw some whales as a bonus. Thank you Murray! We loved spending the day with you!

Awesome!!! Our captain Josh was extremely fun and a great captain. Would definitely ask for him if I book a charter again! We had a giant fish not even sure what it was to really bring down the pole and and snapped off the hook we would have loved to got to see the fish but it was so exciting just to see. Oasis Alaska Charters;Bill M. group Very disappointed with 4 hours of Halibut Fishing.We fished the same spot where the day before 4 Halibut were caught.Is this the only place to catch Halibut or did the boat that was 150 yards from us have the best spot? More importantly,we were told that since we did not catch any Halibut some would be sent to us along with the 1 Salmon and 4 Rock fish.We never got the Halibut.Why not? .I have not yet been billed for the cost of sending the fish to The Mcallister address.Could it be that getting my credit card # hand-written instead of electronically an error was made.?

Breathtaking Beauty and Fun! I felt like I threaded the golden needle on this fishing charter. Nonstop action on all the Rigs. Plus a Whale and it's calf jumped into the air next to our boat! Can hardly believe I was able to catch Salmon, Halibut and Cod all in one afternoon. A truly Great Alaska Experience!

Salmon fishing at its best Our group of 5 had a great experience. After a short taxi from the cruise ship we were greeted as soon as we arrived and within minutes were fishing. Highlight of our Alaska trip! Like many of tourists in Ketchikan, we came in by cruise ship. We had a morning in town and wanted to do some salmon fishing. We found Oasis through Tripadvisor and we were extremely happy with our fishing experience! First off, the pricing is significantly cheaper than the cruise prices. There were four of us and we had our own private boat headed by Captain Murray. Because we had our private boat, each of us were had ample opportunity to reel in our own fish. The Oasis boat, Reel Therapy, is clean and comfortable. As a female, I was happy to see a fully private bathroom instead of a bucket and curtain like on other fishing charters. Snacks and drinks were also provided. Luckily that morning the weather was glorious and the waters were very calm. The 30 pound king salmon was easily the largest fish my husband ever caught. We also caught a 20 pound chum salmon and several rockfish. When we came back to the marina, we were met by the shipping staff and they set up overnight delivery for our fish to be shipped to California. We are enjoying our fresh Alaskan salmon for dinner tonight. I would highly recommend Oasis Fishing charter! When we come back to Alaska, we hope to fish with them again:)

Great day of salmon fishing Had a great day of fishing with Oasis. In four hours we caught (and released) about 25 salmon in 4 hours. Easy process and the kids had a blast. The NCL cruise we were on leaves very few options at this port and we had a lot more fun and better Alaskan experience in Ketchikan then the rest of our group. Thanks.

Great day of fishing Thomas was very knowledgeable about the area, the techniques, and the conditions that would catch us fish. Worth every penny to have an experienced guide rather than try to go it alone. It turned out to be the highlight of my entire group's trip. I emailed owners with a couple of questions before the trip and within a few minutes had a return call with answers and more information.

Great Fishing company We had the best day with oasis charters. Their communication was top notch. We were concerned that we wouldnt have enough time to fish and get back to boat. We did a private tour and they told us they will make it work. The pick up at our boat was easy. Our shuttle driver Tammy was so sweet and told us all about Ketchikan. Our captain was Danny. We had the best time either way him. We give him 5 stars. (Told you Danny). He brought us to a great spot. We got lucky and hit a halibut with first drop. Met our quota and then trolled for Salmon. Unforgettable Fishing Adventure with Oasis Alaska Charters I recently went on a fishing tour with Oasis Alaska Charters and it was an incredible experience. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area and provided us with all the necessary equipment and instructions to make our fishing trip a success. GREAT Experience We had an amazing time with our Captain Murray! The salmon were a little slow but we did catch a few Kings, a yellow eyed rockfish and a number of rockfish. The overall experience was awesome! We had a great time and even got to see humpback whales. We would definitely book with them again.

Another full day out with captain Murray. Last year we had a full day with captain Murray and we limited out on halibut,cod and sea bass as well as a bunch of salmon. This year was more of the same as we had six of us instead of four last year. Didn’t make a difference. We all limited out on the same fish and a lot of salmon. This guide is so busy baiting hooks , netting fish ,watching the fish finder,moving back on the fish after minutes of no bites. I just can’t imagine a better guide. He does the work of three people and when you get back you know where the money was spent and it was well worth it. Great fishing/Great company Our four hour halibut fishing tour could not have been better!!! We got our limit of halibut plus 4 Pacific Cod, 2 sharks and a founder. Chris, our captain, was excellent in every way. Highlight of our trip!!

Alaskan Cruise Fishing Trip My wife and I were taking a cruise with another couple. One of the wives wanted to catch salmon while I wanted to fish for Halibut. Oasis had a 6 hour trip that was for salmon and halibut. The booking process was easy and with 4 of us, we would have our own boat. The booking process was easy and they guided us through everything we needed to get from the cruise ship to the marina. Our Captain, Thomas, was great. Our cruise ship had a small window of time to be in Ketchikan, but Oasis Alaska Charters was ready to go and we had a great trip and made it back to the ship with time to spare.

Not a Great Trip! We were greeted by Captain Murray who was very nice and helped us get our fishing licenses. Unfortunately Captain Matt took us fishing. He didn't greet us, didn't explain anything about fishing in Alaska, in fact barely talked to us unless we asked him a question and didn't act like he wanted to be there! Obviously he wasn't feeling well as he was coughing the entire time and unfortunately we both got sick right after our trip with him...would rather had them cancel the trip!! Also Matt told us it would be about $5 a pound to ship the salmon home which in fact ended up being $18 a pound. Maybe with a different guide it would have been a much better experience!

Awesome!!!!! This Charter was very well organized and efficient from the very beginning to the end of the trip. I am a planner and they communicated everything to me through emails and answered any questions I had. Everyone involved with the charter were absolutely awesome and very knowledgable. A definite must if your searching that ultimate fishing charter experience.

Awesome Reunion with Oasis Alaska Charters We had heard that the cruise lines were not visiting Ketchikan and felt like we needed to joint Mark, Joanne and Capt Murray to help with Covid 2020. What a great time, weather was ok, but Murray put us on the fish and we enjoyed our scheduled two days so well that we all extended to a third day, where we slayed salmon and halibut. Great time had by all and we will be back!!! Cheers to a great organization.

Good captain I am kind of hesitant to write a review. The captain was good and the boats are great and the gear is fine. I understand that some days the fishing is not fantastic and weather can play a part that is out of control. It was a windy day so they couldn’t take us out to the halibut grounds they wanted to so we fished for them in an area our captain said he hadn’t finished before. The fishing was slow so it ended up being a $1200 boat ride for a 7 lb halibut. I kinda wish they had canceled our trip if the weather is such that they can’t get you to productive water. The captain did his best but I do wish they had been more realistic about what to expect and canceled our trip.

Great time! We had a great time with Oasis fishing charters. We ended up with 3 Halibut. Guide was good and the whales gave us quite the show. It was a great experience.

Amazing Experience I booked this tour directly through Oasis instead of our ship. They were easy to deal with. We met Captain Mike as we stepped off the Sourdough Taxi(wonderful driver- Kayleen). We arranged for her to pick us up at the end of the trip and she was there on time, There were four of us and thanks to Capt Mike we had a great time. He was a fellow New Yorker and we knew some people in common. 3 out of the 4 of us had never fished before and we all ended up loving it. Capt Mike had patience and passion for fishing. The weather was exceptional. We wouldn't hesitate to do this again!!

Halibut Fishing so disappointing and waste of money We went in Charter boat with Oasis Charters on August 6, 2018 for a halibut fishing. We had captain Cris. We had to drive a long ways like almost an hour one way. Did not catch any fish at all. For the 4 hour we had like about 2 1/2 hrs of fishing and had 2 bites. Paid a lot of money for nothing. You can’t even touch the pole or cast because the captain has to, Very disappointing. Never go to a charter boat again. If we come back we will have to do our own fishing coz it’s not worth it. Waste of money. I hope my husband will get some refund from Oasis charter Boats.

Amazing Fishing Trip - Highly recommend - Would definitely book again!!! Hunter (The Predator) was awesome. We caught more salmon than we could have imagined. Can't wait for the salmon to arrive so that we can enjoy it. Our two grandson's and son in law talked about what a great time they had every day during the remainder of the trip. My husband, who could not fish, could not say enough about the experience. We highly recommend this charter. It definitely surpassed any expectations we had.

4 Hour Charter off cruise ship on Late August 2018 Although we did not catch anything huge, everyone caught at least one keeper and all had a great time on the charter. Captain Murray was professional, knowledgeable, cheerful, and his boat was more than well maintained, equipped, comfortable, and stocked. We all felt welcome on his boat, and recognized during the charter his efforts to make our brief time on the water as memorable as possible.

Great Salmon Fishing experience! My two sons and I had a great experience with Oasis Alaska Charters and captain Drew. It was a slow day but Drew worked constantly to help us find the fish. This was my boys (15 & 21) favorite excursion of our cruise and they had a blast! I would highly recommend the whole crew at Oasis Alaska Charters!

Family Salmon Fishing in Ketchikan The team at Oasis hosted a great fishing experience for our family. We had a range of ages from 11 to 80 and a mix of inexperienced and experienced anglers. Murray, our guide, handled our group professionally while being entertaining and best of all he tried hard to put us on as much fish as possible. Pickup and drop-off from the cruise terminal was easy. Definitely recommend a trip with Oasis.

Great day of Salmon fishing My wife and I chartered a trip with Capt. Desmond and we were thoroughly impressed with the entire operation . Des put us on the silver salmon and we caught our limit plus two large pink salmon! We had 52 lbs of fillets shipped home and a ton of great memories!We will be back to give Halibut fishing a try next time!

Excellent Halibut and Sea Bass Fishing in Ketchikan My husband, father in law, and I booked a 4 hour Halibut tour outside of our cruise ship- We were in port from 1230p-730p and wanted a more personalized experience rather then going through the cruise line. I am SO GLAD THAT WE DID because we had a great day and ended up with a nice catch of fish!

This operation offered transportation from the cruise ship to the marina. As we were getting off the ship, Mark, called us and said he was in the parking lot waiting for us. It was about a 20 minute drive to the marina where we met our captain Hunter. The boat was in excellent condition and managed the sea’s well. It was overcast/rainy (typical for Ketchikan) but also a little breezy. Hunter and Mark had told us that they were concerned with the weather report and we would have to “play it by ear” if it got to rough. Thankfully, it did not get to rough and we were able to spend a lot of time out on the water.

It took a little while for the Halibut to turn on as the tide was not moving in the right direction, but when it did, we quickly caught our limit! One Halibut was 35 inches, which is big considering we couldn’t keep it if it was over 40 inches, so we were thrilled!

After we caught our limit, Hunter gave us the option to do some Salmon fishing or do some bottom fishing for cod/sea bass. Since we wanted table fare, we opted for the bottom fishing- it was not Salmon season yet. Hunter ran for about 20 minutes to get us to a more protected area (the wind was starting to pick up a bit and we needed calm waters to jig). No sooner then we got to this new area, he saw fish on the meter, told us what to do, and boom we started catching sea bass. Unfortunately we did not catch any cod, but we did limit out on sea bass. During this time there was a bald eagle flying around and doing his own fishing which allowed me to capture some amazing photos. We also saw Orca’s and sea lions.

Overall this trip was amazing. We ended up with 3 Halibut, 1 pacific cod, and 15 sea bass. When we got back to the marina, the dock guys met us, took the fish, cleaned them up for pictures, and then filleted and packaged the fish for shipping. Now that we are back home (in Maryland) we should be getting the fish this week. We are so excited!

I highly recommend this company and this tour. It was excellent and we had a great time. While we had a great day, remember, its called fishing, not catching…. Although I am confident Hunter will do anything in his power to put you on the fish 🙂

Fantastic Fishing Experience - Book it! My husband and I booked a private charter for Halibut fishing but we actually did both Halibut and Salmon. We had such a great time, our Captain was experienced and did all the hard work while we just brought the fish in abundance. We were able to ship our fish home, which we will enjoy with family.Highly recommend this experience, you will be happy with your catch!

September Chartered Fishing Trip Very professional and friendly fishing service. Very knowledgeable about the area and where to actually locate the fishing grounds and not just go with the masses. Better success than any other people on our cruise ship.

6hr salmon/halibut charter Went out on July 5th with a good friend of mine to catch some halibut. Due to stupidity on my part from the night before,I was out of commission the entire trip and didn’t pick up a pole. But my friend had a good time and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Despite my best efforts to feed the fish, my friend was unable to pull anything in worth keeping, but that’s fishing, and I would go with them again if I am back in Ketchikan.

Amazing fishing excursion! This was a rescheduled family trip from 2020 for a group of 10. Half went salmon fishing with Drew, the others halibut fishing with Hunter. Right from the start, the staff at Oasis Alaska Charters was very responsive - they answered my emails in a timely fashion (usually within minutes!) The shuttle service from the cruise terminal was very convenient and reasonably priced - definitely recommended. Our fishing experience was amazing - looking forward to the arrival of our fish! Halibut Fishing Went halibut fishing in the end of May 2017.The weather was horrible, windy and raining.We ended catching halibut and came back early.The captain was great. The whole experience was great.He even offered to go for some salmon but one of our guest was sea sick.I will definitely go back

Ketchikan with Thomas We had a blast. We were so busy with the bites that our 4 hours just disappeared. We caught a great variety - sharks, cod, halibut, rock fish and a skate. Thomas was a fun captain.

Great trip again This was our second time fishing with Oasis. It was probably the worst fishing that I have experienced in Alaska, but it definitely was no fault of Oasis or Capt. Chris.
The weather just turned bad and the seas were pretty rough.
Chris tried hard to get us on some good fishing. I think he really went overboard to try and get us lots of fish, but it just wasn't the day for it.
We brought fish home, but not near as much as usual or as we would have liked, but it was still a great and fun adventure.
Id recommend Oasis to anyone.

Dad fishing with daughters I took my two daughters salmon and rock fishing. The captain was real hands on and gave us the best amount of fishing for our time. We went in July, if I did it again would go in mid August and do the all day. If you do the the all day the well take you to the cape which is a two hour trip, bigger rock fish and enough time to catch more salmon

Verry disapointed! Well the staff was very friendly and helpful, however since we spent over 1,600 dollars I was hoping to catch some fish. But since we spent all that money and we did not even catch one fish, I am very very disappointed! I would hope that at least some of my money will be refunded back to my credit card to make things right.

Fishing Charter Cptn. Thomas had us on the salmon with a short window of time. We were pressed as we had limited time for our excursion from the cruise ship, but ended up catching 10 salmon in 2.5 hrs. It was a great overall experience and I look forward to returning.

Top Notch Organization Across the Board! From start to finish this was one of the best and easiest vacation experiences of my life. Joanne was very informative and patient with all my questions. Tammy, our shuttle driver was amazing and had a ton of local knowledge. Hunter was our guide, and he did put us on the fish. Natural Born Predator We went out with Captain Chris on the Predator. I would absolutely recommend Oasis Alaska Charters and Chris!! Great time, Great Music, (Of course me and the fiance stopped on the way to the boat and grabbed a 12 pack along with the sandwiches we snuck off our cruise ship - Oasis told us where to go when we booked for the beer). Captain Chris was high energy and all about keeping positive vibes and celebrating every fish caught as if it was the first one!! We definitely decided to ship everything we caught home. It is alot LESS expensive than we thought it would be. Nothing better than eating what you catch, especially when it's Alaskan Salmon!! There are only specific charters that will accept 2 people, and this is one of them.

Halibut Fishing Our family was visiting Ketchikan on an Alaskan cruise. Prior to arrival the communication with Oasis Alaska Charters was great. They answered all of my questions. The day we arrived in port, we were picked up promptly and transported to the boat. Captain Murray had the boat ready to go once we arrived. We rode out a few miles with breathtaking scenery, dropped our lines in the water and within a few minutes had our first halibut. We saw whales, a hungry eagle and caught our limit on halibut and rockfish. This trip was wonderful and Captain Murray put us on the fish. My 4 hr salmon charter Traveled to Alaska on the NCL Bliss. This was my wife’s dream cruise. Several weeks before I decided to try fishing while in Ketchikan. Knowing full well that our time was limited, I choose Oasis both on reviews and the ability to do a 4 hour trip and still have an hour to spend in town. Captain Des and his first mate proved to be the perfect match.

Hearing that the prior few days were slim pickings did not diminish my excitement for the trip. I wanted the experience of a cruising on a small boat and chasing salmon and Capt Des did not disappoint. Headed out to one of his favorite spots fished about a half hour with one or two bites. The reviews are totally correct, these guys work hard to get fish for their clients . While there are no guarantees in fishing it’s not from their lack of trying . In many cases it is a once in a life time trip. And thanks to first mate Alexis, she did the video of my catching both coho’s and captured some beautiful scenery as well

Best fishing trip ever I could not have asked for a better fishing charter. They knew that we had a limited amount of time for fishing because we had to get back to our cruise ship, so they did everything they could to get us on the water and fishing asap. We left the dock and were catching fish within 15 minutes. Captain Murray found a honey hole and helped us put 41 fish on ice in about 3 1/2 hours. We had a great time and would happily use Oasis Alaska Charters again. I've already recommended them to several friends.

Awesome guide and salmon fishing experience Chris, our guide, was awesome. Fun to be around and helped us catch a ton of salmon on our trip in late July. While we didn't snag the elusive king, we did manage to have a blast fishing and enjoying the incredible Alaska scenery. Logistics were very smooth getting in and off the boat. Shipped fish arrived at our East Coast house about a week after the trip.

Fun fishing with an extra bonus JoAnn was extremely helpful in getting us scheduled and making changes that were needed. Capt Murray is amazing! He is efficient, fun, and knows right where to go. We have 2 younger children and a teenager and they all had a blast. Oasis made it easy for us and it was extra enjoyable. The only recommendation would be to make sure you get your fishing license ahead. We thought the company did that but its so easy they do expect adults to do it. Once we realized, we did it while on the boat with no problem!

Fabulous Fishing Trip We went out on Reel Therapy for 2 full days of fishing with Captain Murray just a week ago. We had an absolutely amazing time! Cpt. Murray was very knowledgeable, personable and a good instructor. We couldn't have had more fun and we caught over 200lbs of fish between the 4 of us. Thanks for a fantastic time!

Amazing Experience! I was lucky enough to book Oasis Charters for a "bucket list" Alaska fishing trip for my father and father in law. Things could not have been better. Fun Fishing Trip Captain Murray was an outstanding fishing captain!!!! He was patient with us novice fisherman!!! 🙂 With his expertise we were able to catch 3 halibut, 5 cod, 1 small shark(had to through him back) and numerous bait fish(fun to catch). 3 Days of Awesome Fishing Captain Murray provided us with 3 great days of fishing! Captain was high energy and helped our group of 4 with lines, bait, etc and was able to find the spots to catch the fish.We had a great time on the boat ,,,,plenty of room on the boat, great music, and hospitality. Would go again without any hesitation.

First Halibut! Went out fishing with Murray-he was fantastic-showed us and told us about fishing there and put us on the fish-there were boats around us but we caught the fish!

Halibut heaven What a great experience! Skylar put us on Halibut right away! Left time for Kings! Unfortunately they were slow today but Skylar did everything he could to put us on fish. Definitely had a great time and would return!

My 4 hr salmon charter Traveled to Alaska on the NCL Bliss. This was my wife’s dream cruise. Several weeks before I decided to try fishing while in Ketchikan. Knowing full well that our time was limited, I choose Oasis both on reviews and the ability to do a 4 hour trip and still have an hour to spend in town. Captain Des and his first mate proved to be the perfect match. Hearing that the prior few days were slim pickings did not diminish my excitement for the trip. I wanted the experience of a cruising on a small boat and chasing salmon and Capt Des did not disappoint. Headed out to one of his favorite spots fished about a half hour with one or two bites. Great charter fishing experience Message: I just wanted to tell you guys what a fun time we had on our charter. Murray is a great guy to be sent out with and really works hard to make the trip a great one. He certainly did for us. The boat you use is really nice and is perfect for four. We hope to do this again next year, our friend from Germany had a trip of a lifetime unlike anything you could do there. Now his dad is itching to go for next season and you can be sure we will phone you for the trip. We would hope we get paired with Murray again. The whales were spectacular.

Great day of fishing. Great fishing charter. We were picked up from our cruise on time and learned about the local town during our drive. We got our limit of halibut. We had them shipped to our house and the beautiful filets arrived as promised.

Fun catching Salmon My two sons and I had a great time bobbing on the boat and catching salmon! We only fished 3 hours but had 8 hits and reeled in two! They are now in my freezer ready to eat!

Excellent fishing charter The charter was very professional, and catered to our every need. Fishing was good, and our captain knew his business very well. We were even able to have our fish cleaned, packaged, and sent home.

Oasis Alaska Charters was our favorite Ketchikan excursion Our family had an amazing time with Oasis Alaska Charters. Our skipper Murray was fun and he took us to the land of big fish and lots of them! All in all we caught 9 salmon on a half day excursion and would have had 12 in total buy my son had trouble reeling a few in and we had to even throw back a few that weren't at length. The highlight of the day was our second to last catch when low and behold a bald eagle tries to steal the salmon that I was reeling in. It was pretty wild, but we managed to get the fish. Amazing Day of Fishing I can not say enough about your amazing day of fishing with Captain Murray. We were on a cruise and decided the Ketchikan stop we would go fishing. We booked the charter in advanced. Upon arriving in Ketchikan we had Sourdough taxi take us to the charter. We were met by Joann at the dock and introduced to Captain Murray. Captain Murray did a great job at letting us know what to expect and was very helpful. The boat was clean and the equipment was in excellent condition. He had us on fish in no time and the next (4) hours just flew by. We all had a lot of fun and hope to return for another day of fishing with Oasis Alaska Charters.

Amazing It was so awesome, even though we were early in the season. We caught plenty of other fish. The owners ( Mark and Joann ) were wonderful. Our captain, Hunter was the best. Relaxed, helpful and personable. I highly recommend this group of people.
