Fishing for salmon in Alaska My husband and I had a fun 4 hours on the water and caught two Coho salmon. We had them sent home and just enjoyed a dinner of our catch. Our captain was very nice and handled everything professionally.

Memorable and great fun From start to finish, this was a wonderful, fun and memorable experience.
We were collected from where the cruise ship docked, and driven the roughly half hour to the fishing pier. Here we met our captain for the trip (Danny)
He showed us all the equipment, baited and set the rods and helped us every step of the way. We had a great time fighting with the Halibut, and some sharks!
We even saw a pod of Orcas in the nearby waters.
4 hours on the water, left us with 4 Halibut (our limit of one each) we threw back a 5th and 5 sharks, which we also released.
Beautiful weather was on our side, and the majestic scenery was amazing.
I thoroughly recommend this tour, it was awesome, and thank you to everyone who made it so special.
We left our catch to be filleted, frozen and shipped via FedEx, which cost around $220. When you consider that this yielded about 12.5 lbs. of Halibut fillet, that's a great deal in any language, shipped to my door on ice in Styrofoam in Minnesota. when we returned home several days later. We ended the trip by being driven back to town to do some shopping.

Timely, Great Service We were at The Oasis dock 25 minutes after our ship docked. We waited less than 10 minutes for our Captain Desmond to meet us. Once we got the licenses we were out fishing. While it was “shoulder” season we still managed to catch 7 fish. It was a great time.

Great 1/2 day charter From inquiring to booking to fishing, Oasis Alaska knocked it out of the park. Joann and Mark were easy to work with and the communication was top notch.

6 hour Halibut and Salmon Mark was fast to respond when I left a message to book the trip and we took advantage of their shuttle van. Hunter was our Captain and did a great job finding fish on our 6 hour Halibut and Salmon trip. With a little time left to spare, Hunter let us jig for Sea Bass and he kept the boat over the fish. It was a great trip and we would definitely book with Oasis again!

Absolutely incredible What an incredible crew and ownership. I scheduled with Oasis charters after everything on our cruise was booked. I am so glad that this was the case. I wanted a charter for 2 which I could not get booking through the cruise anyway. They were the first people to answer the phone call (not a computer voice) talking with Mark and Joanne was a wonderful experience. I called back multiple times after booking our excursion with questions. They were so kind and answered every question I had without making me feel like what I may have been asking was dumb or stupid. It was our first fishing excursion so I had a lot of dumb stuff I was thinking about. When we got to port Mark was right there waiting. When we arrived at the dock for our excursion we met our captain Axl (not sure of spelling). We could not have asked for a better captain for us. He supplied us with great info and an incredible fishing trip. We almost limited out by catching 9 of a possible 12 salmon in our short 4 hr excursion. Hunter Is a Fishing Fool! Booked a 6 hour charter with Hunter. Super cool guy that lives to fish! We didn't have our lines out 3 minutes and we had a triple of salmon on. Trolled until the tide was right then anchored for the halibut bite. Ended up with 19 keepers and threw back at least that many sub legal fish. I've fished all over the world and this young man will get you on the fish. You will not be disappointed with this outfit! …

Great time My husband and son originally had a halibut trip booked thru our cruise line but it was cancelled. I ended up booking with Oasis Charters and they were great from the initial inquiry. They were responsive and helpful. We reserved transfers from cruise dock and the halibut charter for 2. My husband and son had a blast and both caught a halibut plus some cod. Great time had and worth every cent.

Great day of fishing. Great fishing charter. We were picked up from our cruise on time and learned about the local town during our drive. We got our limit of halibut. We had them shipped to our house and the beautiful filets arrived as promised.

No real effort Captain and van driver were very nice. But we paid for a 4 hrs fishing and only got 2.5 hrs. The van driver picked us up at 1123 knowing our ship leaves at 430. It’s a 30-35 min drive to fishing boats from cruise port. Once we got to our boat we waited another 10 mi. For our captain, the other charter packed and left and apparently took the better fishing spot. After 1.5 hrs had to request the captain move to another spot. I’m a seasoned fisherman not a novice who was looking to catch my first any kind fish! I was expecting a better effort from captain and van driver. Problem with tourist charters they know you are leaving on a cruise never to return. Typical tourist trap, not worth $1,600

Oasis Alaska Charters was our favorite Ketchikan excursion Our family had an amazing time with Oasis Alaska Charters. Our skipper Murray was fun and he took us to the land of big fish and lots of them! All in all we caught 9 salmon on a half day excursion and would have had 12 in total buy my son had trouble reeling a few in and we had to even throw back a few that weren't at length. The highlight of the day was our second to last catch when low and behold a bald eagle tries to steal the salmon that I was reeling in. It was pretty wild, but we managed to get the fish. Amazing company I'm the President of Purple Heart Anglers, a 501 c 3 non profit organization. We take disabled veterans on hunting and fishing trips and we just took a group on a "Trip of a Lifetime" to fish for Salmon in Ketchikan Alaska. Mark, the owner, and boat Captains, Logan and Murray are outstanding. The Captains are knowledgeable and fun and a real pleasure to be on a boat with. We laughed and caught Salmon for three days. Each of our participants brought back 70 lb.'s of Salmon fillet. The respect and honor they show to our disabled veterans is wonderful.We are grateful to them all for their care and support.I can't say enough about this company.When you want to take a guided trip up in Ketchikan Alaska, there is none better than Oasis Alaska.

great experience spent 2 1/2 days fishing with Chris - the whole company is first rate - friendly, accommodating, very interested in providing a top notch experience; although we were scheduled for an 8 hour trip we actually fished for over 10 hours as there was no pressure to return at a certain time; willing to go wherever necessary to find fish - plan to go back next year and will definitely use these folks

GREAT Experience We had an amazing time with our Captain Murray! The salmon were a little slow but we did catch a few Kings, a yellow eyed rockfish and a number of rockfish. The overall experience was awesome! We had a great time and even got to see humpback whales. We would definitely book with them again.

Oasis Alaskan Charters….One Class Act While on an Alaskan family cruise, we had a very abbreviated stop over in Ketchikan. Unable to book 5 family members on fishing excursion so we went freestyle. Found Oasis Alaskan Charters online and read reviews. Claimed to be 5 star operation so we booked a private charter for just our family.
From the time we got off to the got back on the cruise ship, Oasis demonstrated they were, in fact, a class act. We were picked up at the pier in a private shuttle at the appointed time, taken directly to the chartered fishing boat, introduced to our captain, Bert, then loaded onto the boat and headed out to do some bucket list salmon fishing. We booked a 4 hour charter as we had to be back to the ship 4-1/2 hours after docking. We didn’t think we were going to get anywhere close to 4 hours of fishing but I will tell you, we got pretty close to that but still got back to the marina by 11:00 am.
While fishing, Bert masterfully navigated the boat around both recreational and commercial salmon fishermen while skillfully managing the rigging of 3 fishing poles. Between the 3 fishermen, we caught 13 good sized silver salmon (largest 12 lbs) during the allotted time. Several more were hooked but lost during recovery. A beautiful day to be in the water for sure.
After returning to the dock, Bert unloaded the salmon for us and hung them up for a photo opportunity. He also has explained to us about the procedure and cost for keeping salmon for personal consumption.
The shuttle ride back to the ship was as good as the pickup and we were back at the ship at the appointed embarkation time.
Oasis Alaska Charters is in complete tune with the cruise ship industry and knows how to maximize your time on the water without being concerned about missing your cruise ship.
This company is a class act all the way and I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to fish in Ketchikan AK.

Ketchikan 2024 My nephews and I had two wonderful days fishing with Captain Hunter. He is friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. Day 1 we caught our limits of everything. Day 2 caught limits of halibut and rockfish. Kings were a little harder to find, but Hunter worked hard and we caught 2 and lost more. I'm looking forward to next year.

Spectacular day of fishing! We had a fantastic time with Captain Murray. He was just awesome. So attentive and really knew his stuff. We were catching so many fish -halibut and Salmon- that it was hard to even keep up! My dad and brother have been on many fishing charters and said by far this was the most successful trip we have ever had. We caught more fish than we can probably ever eat! Great day! We had the best time. I highly recommend using the shuttle service; it took the stress out of getting to the marina and back to the ship on time. Captain Drew Does It Again! Captain Drew was very knowledgeable and knew where the fish were! We maxed out on the quantity of salmon we could catch per day (6) in 2 hours which was awesome!

Natural Born Predator We went out with Captain Chris on the Predator. I would absolutely recommend Oasis Alaska Charters and Chris!! Great time, Great Music, (Of course me and the fiance stopped on the way to the boat and grabbed a 12 pack along with the sandwiches we snuck off our cruise ship - Oasis told us where to go when we booked for the beer). Fantastic fishing trip! Wow! We had a terrific morning fishing with Murray as our captain . We went out exactly on time, the boat was very clean, and there were plenty of poles . True Alaskan Experience! We booked the 4 hour salmon fishing charter, and we are so glad we did! This trip was everything we had hoped for and more! From the moment we stepped off the cruise ship and Oasis Alaska Charters picked us up, to the moment they dropped us back off, everything was seamless. We caught lots of fish, including king salmon, saw 2 pods of Orcas, and even had a bald Eagle swoop in to try to steal our catch! Murry, our captain, was amazing, knowledgeable, and so great with the kids. When we returned to the dock, they quickly had it arranged to have our fish processed and shipped home to us. Another full day out with captain Murray. Last year we had a full day with captain Murray and we limited out on halibut,cod and sea bass as well as a bunch of salmon. This year was more of the same as we had six of us instead of four last year. Didn’t make a difference. We all limited out on the same fish and a lot of salmon. This guide is so busy baiting hooks , netting fish ,watching the fish finder,moving back on the fish after minutes of no bites. I just can’t imagine a better guide. He does the work of three people and when you get back you know where the money was spent and it was well worth it. Alaska at it's best The hospitality that was shown to our group the two days we were fishing was amazing. The whole Oasis staff was extremely catering and helpful to our group. From the time we arrived until we had to leave, great lengths were taken to ensure our time was nothing short of the best. Shout out to Capt Chris and Capt Murray. Great fishing/Great company Our four hour halibut fishing tour could not have been better!!! We got our limit of halibut plus 4 Pacific Cod, 2 sharks and a founder. Chris, our captain, was excellent in every way. Highlight of our trip!!

Great Day!! We were very happy with 95% of our fishing adventure. The weather was perfection, the captain was great! The fish were not cooperating, but we thoroughly understand that is out of their hands. We caught 1 king that was too small to keep, and one beautiful Silver. There were no other bites, very disappointing for the money we paid. Because a previous charter did not want to keep their Pinks, they did offer us to keep them. We happily accepted that offer, and are awaiting our fish. We had a bonus of watching 10 whale breaches during our trip, so that was amazing!! we wouldn't hesitate to go with Oasis again. More

Amazing Salmon Fishing! Captain Murray is a fantastic guide! Let me preface this review by saying this was our second private fishing trip in Alaska. The first one, the day before was fun and we caught several salmon. However, Oasis Charter with Captain Murray was really exceptional! The boat was extremely clean and very nice. Murray made everything easy and fun! We caught a lot of coho salmon that we had shipped home. Best tasting fish we’ve ever eaten. Murray took us to several fishing sites and along the way pointed out many interesting sights! We plan to come book again book with Oasis and Murray in the near future!

Amazing Fishing Trip - Highly recommend - Would definitely book again!!! Hunter (The Predator) was awesome. We caught more salmon than we could have imagined. Can't wait for the salmon to arrive so that we can enjoy it. Our two grandson's and son in law talked about what a great time they had every day during the remainder of the trip. Great experience! Every aspect of the trip was top notch. We showed up early and so did the captain and we got a 30 minute early start! Caught 7 quick pink salmon for fresh bait and the cooler box and we were off for halibut fishing. We caught so many variety of fish it was hard to keep track. We finished the 4 hour trip with a great mixed bag of fish. The captain was great, the boat was well equipped and clean. I'd recommend to anyone.

Caught our limit and then some On 8/7/21 we were blessed to get, El Capitán, Hunter as our guide. THE Hunter helped us get 12 silver (Coho) salmon, 12 pink salmon, and 2 bass. We could have caught more (and if the Hunter got his way we would have), but we didn't have the freezer space. Hunter, the fish whisperer, is a cool Hawaiian boy who grew up fishing in Hawaii. I've never met anyone as passionate about fishing and determined to help you get your moneys worth! He is extremely competitive, committed, and hard working. The whole staff is amazing! The owner picked up our fish and brought it to the airport because we were both headed to the airport. They were willing to accommodate us on short notice and they went above and beyond to help us. I can't rave enough about our experience! TAKE THE SHUTTLE OFFER!! Taking a taxi is about $50-$60. …

Amazing Experience I booked this tour directly through Oasis instead of our ship. They were easy to deal with. We met Captain Mike as we stepped off the Sourdough Taxi(wonderful driver- Kayleen). We arranged for her to pick us up at the end of the trip and she was there on time, There were four of us and thanks to Capt Mike we had a great time. He was a fellow New Yorker and we knew some people in common. 3 out of the 4 of us had never fished before and we all ended up loving it. Capt Mike had patience and passion for fishing. Halibut and Salmon half day trip. our trip was fantastic. From pick up off ship our driver told us all about the town. we saw a bunch of bald eagles along the way. Our captain Hunter put us right on the fish. My wife and I had 6 halibut in less than an hour but since we could only keep one each he took us to another spot. There we jigged and caught Ling cod.After that we trolled and caught king salmon ang one Cohoes. 4hours of action and had fish shipped to arrive home when we get there. Great Fishing Trip! Even though we had rainy conditions, our captain worked hard to get us into fish and we had two great days of fishing. Everyone was very helpful. The boats were clean and well taken care of. I would absolutely hire this charter service again .

Salmon fishing Early in season so salmon we caught were too small. However, Hunter did all he could to help us find fish! Back to ship in plenty of time!!

Top Notch Organization Across the Board! From start to finish this was one of the best and easiest vacation experiences of my life. Joanne was very informative and patient with all my questions. Tammy, our shuttle driver was amazing and had a ton of local knowledge. Hunter was our guide, and he did put us on the fish. We brought back 20 Salmon, but even if we would not of, he would have made sure we had a good time. I will be back to Ketchikan to fish with this group again.

Awesome Reunion with Oasis Alaska Charters We had heard that the cruise lines were not visiting Ketchikan and felt like we needed to joint Mark, Joanne and Capt Murray to help with Covid 2020. What a great time, weather was ok, but Murray put us on the fish and we enjoyed our scheduled two days so well that we all extended to a third day, where we slayed salmon and halibut. Great time had by all and we will be back!!! Cheers to a great organization.

The Best! We had a fabulous experience in Ketchikan! Lots of great memories were made with Oasis Alaska Charters. Planning this trip was just perfect because of the wonderful communication and willingness of Mark. We couldn't thank you enough for getting us the best fishing charter we could possibly have. Oasis Alaska Charters worked extra hard to get us a fishing charter since many of the charters were already booked. Oasis Alaska Charters found us the best. Connor was great! We caught fish! Lots of it! Connor knew exactly where to go and how to navigate to different fishing spots. We had a blast! We even ended early because we caught the limit we wanted. Connor helped us get the fish ready to cut up and shipped back to our home. Last night we had our first piece of salmon and it was absolutely amazing. Thanks for all the memories. We can't stop smiling from this amazing experience. Truly, this was our favorite part of Alaska. Connor, we by far were the best charter we could have asked for. Thank you!!!

Halibut Fishing Our family was visiting Ketchikan on an Alaskan cruise. Prior to arrival the communication with Oasis Alaska Charters was great. They answered all of my questions. The day we arrived in port, we were picked up promptly and transported to the boat. Captain Murray had the boat ready to go once we arrived. We rode out a few miles with breathtaking scenery, dropped our lines in the water and within a few minutes had our first halibut. We saw whales, a hungry eagle and caught our limit on halibut and rockfish. This trip was wonderful and Captain Murray put us on the fish. Amazing experience There r no guarantees w fishing but Captain Murray is your best bet to find them. Book the full day because when your time is up you will wish you could keep fishing.

Great Captian and first mate awsome trip there was 3 of us on this trip and we fish a lot on the east coast for tuna, shark, cod, fluke and bass. we had a great time the captain was accommodating and knowledgeable. we caught Halibut, pacific cod and rock fish. the trip was only a 4 hr trip next time we will take a 8hr if the cruse line stayed longer we would have done it. was a little rushed but everyone made sure we made the boat.

Best Fishing Trip EVER! This was one of the best experiences of my life, hands down. Everyone involved with Oasis and Salmon Falls were professional, fun, and incredibly gracious. I would highly recommend this charter group to anyone interested in this sort of excursion! I'm already beginning to plan my next trip!

Amazing Alaskan Fishing Experience What an amazing experience - really made out trip to Alaska memorable! Everything was so easy to schedule and coordinate, Mark and JoAnn we fantastic to work with. Our Captain, Hunter, was awesome! Super friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and he put us on the fish! Afterwards, they were great at helping us with getting our catch processed so we could take it home. Really made for a perfect day. Fun fishing with an extra bonus JoAnn was extremely helpful in getting us scheduled and making changes that were needed. Capt Murray is amazing! He is efficient, fun, and knows right where to go. We have 2 younger children and a teenager and they all had a blast. Oasis made it easy for us and it was extra enjoyable. The only recommendation would be to make sure you get your fishing license ahead. We thought the company did that but its so easy they do expect adults to do it. Once we realized, we did it while on the boat with no problem!

Halibut Galore We had an awesome fishing trip, catching our maximum number of Halibut allowed. Our captain, Murray was excellent and definitely made our excursion fun. I would highly recommend this fishing trip to you.

Halibut heaven What a great experience! Skylar put us on Halibut right away! Left time for Kings! Unfortunately they were slow today but Skylar did everything he could to put us on fish. Definitely had a great time and would return!

Excellent private excursion during port of call Booked a halibut fishing charter for a port of call during a cruise trip. The shuttle was prompt, clean, and fast and we were on the boat minutes after our arrival.

Captain was friendly and knowledgeable and had us on the fish we were looking for. As an added bonus he helped us spot the whales and eagles in the area. Great trip with Oasis!

Ketchikan Salmon Everything went well for our group of five fishermen! Great 4-hour excursion with spectacular scenery. Would definitely use Oasis again. Appreciated having Hunter to guide us to fish! Look forward to returning soon.

Fishing Charter We had a great time. Our captain was very good at getting us on fish. He was also a good guy, lots of fun to be around.

Poor to average Trip was hurried and very overpriced for what you got. Boast was in constant motion, no casting at all by us. Just trolling around and that was it. I think we reeled in like 3 fish. The guide was nice though. That’s the only reason I gave a 2 Star. It would have gotten a 1 if not for him. Very disappointed.

Salmon and Halibut fishing charter in Ketchican The entire trip and stay at the Clover Pass lodge was a outstanding experience. Oasis Alaska employs Murray the fishing guide and he works very hard to get you on the fish and is a super cool. Boats and fishing equipment were nice and well maintained. The Clover Pass Lodge is older and rooms are small, but everything was clean, well maintained and very nice. The meals that Clover Pass has prepared are great. The fish cleaning and shipping from Clover Pass was a great service. We got 150lbs of fish filets in two days fishing.

Overall the entire fishing charter and lodge were great. I would highly recommend this to any one who has wanted to do something like this.

Murray is a great guide. I would request him for my next trip. He worked non stop to make sure we had our limits of fish. And he was just flat out fun to fish with.

Marvelous Halibut Charter Wonderful day Halibut fishing with Oasis at Ketchikan. The weather was very pleasant as all 6 of us caught a Halibut ranging from 25lbs to 15lbs. Had them processed and shipped back home tasty! Our Captain was very attentive and knew how to dialogue with our group fun times. Make sure to say hi to Steve, the bald eagle. Saw a dozen whales and lots of eagles. They picked us up at the port and returned us to Creek Street. Highly recommend and much less expensive than going through Princess.

Great team, good fishing and would book again. We had a great time! The team was great at communicating with about shuttle transportation. The captain was easy to talk to and found fish quickly and consistently. Was very happy with the charter and would book again.

An Awesome Trip with a Great Company If you're considering a salmon/halibut/bottom fish trip look at Oasis.

JoAnn and Mark run a great operation and the price was reasonable for me and my two brothers. JoAnn responds to emails quickly.

Three days of fishing got us three hundred pounds of processed fish. You have to pay for the processing at something like $2.50 a pound.

Captain Maury was our guide on a 30+ foot boat. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. He does smoke, which didn't bother me since I brought cigars. He was patient and allowed us to do as much as we wanted. I have similar downriggers to those on the boat so he had no problem with us rigging our own lines. It saved time when the fishing was hot - which was often.

The boat was clean and the gear worked fine. Having a head (bathroom) was nice since you're out all day. The first day was a little choppy but the boat was pretty stable and balance wasn't a problem. There is a large cabin if the weather turns bad or while you're under way.

The dock crew that unloads the fish and processes it were a group of young people that were uniformly friendly and helpful. I asked them to process one fish while we were unloading to give to the taxi driver and they had it done in 10 minutes at no additional charge. they'll also take all the photos you want of your trophy fish.

The taxi from the Landing hotel was a flat $50. If you use Sourdough Taxi ask for Carl. He took us to and from the dock every day. He was friendly and On Time - even for our 5:30 am pick ups.

Awesome Fishing Trip with Oasis Alaska Charters in Ketchikan We had a blast the 3 days out fishing with Captain Hunter. We caught a ton of fish (salmon, halibut, lings, true cod, sea bass), had a lot of great laughs, and we all really enjoyed the entire experience. We highly recommend family and friends to book a fishing trip with Oasis Alaska Charters. Hunter is a first-class Captain and is very knowledgeable about fishing.
